Debbie was born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin, an area known for its natural beauty of farms, the hills of Kettle Moraine, and the historical and maritime influence of Lake Michigan. Painting and drawing at an early age on many family vacations is a fond memory and as a result, has made art an important part of her life ever since.

The Door County Peninsula in eastern Wisconsin has been an inspiring area for painting. Referred to as the "Cape Cod of the Midwest," Door County has a rustic and varied landscape which includes the shores of Lake Michigan and Green Bay, the steep, rocky cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment, and beautiful farms. The area offers her many opportunities to not only paint, but also to enjoy sailing, kayaking, hiking and cross country skiing with her husband and family. Debbie maintains a second studio from her home in Sister Bay.

Debbie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Design from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. For several years she worked as a rendering artist for an architectural firm and as a designer in both Central Wisconsin and the Milwaukee area.
For the past twenty years, Debbie's art work has reflected her appreciation of nature through her larger studio works of florals and montage watercolor paintings. She has studied with both local and nationally known artists. Debbie lives in Mequon and maintains a primary studio in the village of Thiensville, The Painted Trillium.
